Park Royal Partnership Community Action Day 2008

Inspiracion recently provided project management support to Park Royal Partnership for their annual Community Action Day 2008.

Once a year Park Royal Partnership coordinates a Community Action Day event bringing community organisations, charities and schools
together with commercial businesses. Since introducing this annual activity in September 2004 company volunteers see the benefits it brings to the companies well as the local community.

For companies it helps boost the morale of employees as they work with colleagues to plan and complete a project task for a charitable cause, not to mention allowing them to meet existing or potential customers.

For charities and schools it is an opportunity to invite local business to take part in projects that help restore facilities, that otherwise would not happen and are of real value to the people that use their premises daily. This years Community Action Day event was carried out over two days, Thursday 2 October and Friday 3 October 2008.

The project tasks were selected from the boroughs of Brent, Ealing and Hammersmith and Fulham. A total of 14 community organisations or schools selected by companies to take part in the PRP Community Action Day, with 17 projects in total. Over 140 company volunteers participated in the Community Action Day Event over the two days.

2007-10 ESF Innovation & Transnationality Project Funding

This European Social Fund (ESF) call for proposals aims to support a small range of strategic, regional projects to develop and deliver new ways of extending employment opportunity and raising workforce skills. In doing so, it will contribute to the challenges of promoting social inclusion, raising productivity, fostering competitive businesses, and living within environmental and demographic limits.

The selected projects will develop, test and deliver innovative ways of extending employment opportunities and improving the skills of the workforce. Projects should involve at least one partner from another EU Member State.

London has selected 6 themes for Innovative and Transnational activity in 2007-10.

Priority 1 themes are:

Active Inclusion
Engaging with Employers
Demographic Change

Priority 2 themes are:

Engaging with Employers
Demographic Change
Skills for Climate Change

LDA ESF Co-financing Programme 2007-2010: Prospectus 2

The LDA intends to launch the second round of funding in Autumn/Winter 2008.

For this round (and now all LDA procurement opportunities), all potential bidders will need to register on the CompeteFor system, an online advertising and supplier short-listing tool.

Community Grants Funding Round

Community Grants is a new programme which aims to support small voluntary and community organisations to engage with local communities and deliver a range of skills and employment support activities, through the provision of grants up to £12,000.

The grants aim to support a quality outreach provision, providing an essential stepping stone for unemployed and economically inactive participants to find employment or progress to further learning.

The ESF Community Grants programme builds on the Global Grants programme (known as Fast Forward Grants in London), which was one of the key features of the last regional ESF Objective 3 programme.

The London Development Agency Community Grants application round was launched on Wednesday 22 October 2008.

Deadline: Wednesday 19 November at 5pm.

London Councils European Social fund Co-Financing Programme

London Councils has launched the second round of ESF funding. 13 boroughs have provided funding to be matched by ESF to create a £9m programme. London Councils welcomes tenders from organisations to deliver in one of the 13 boroughs:

Learning and Skills Councils (LSC): ESF funding for 2007-2013

LSC invitation to tender for ESF funding for projects supporting young people not in education, employment or training (NEET), ex offenders, disabled people and employed people are open in July.

The deadline for submission of tenders for NEET element of this funding will close on 1 August 2008 .

For the other elements of the programme submissions can be made up until 12 August 2008.

European Social Fund: DWP ESF Tender Opportunity

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is offering organisations the opportunity to compete, through an open and competitive one stage tendering process, for delivery of provision funded via the European Social Fund Programme 2007-2013 in the 2 districts of SOUTH LONDON and WEST LONDON.

Contracts will begin 3 November 2008 and will be for an initial period of 2 Years and 9 months, with the possibility of up to a further two years extension.

The competition will be a one-stage process.

All providers who are interested in bidding for this competition must register an expression of interest by Monday 30 June 2008.
